Configuring device’s static IP on the device

Make sure the static IP you are using is not in the range that WiFi router’s DHCP server assigns!
Using an arbitrary IP address you like could result in a conflict, should a random device connect to that Wi-Fi network and be assigned that specific IP address by the DHCP server, before our device (the one you configure that static IP on) gets connected and tries to use that very same IP.

You can find and modify the IP address range that the DHCP server uses in the Wi-Fi router’s settings.
For more complex networks, it’d be wise to contact the network’s administrator, to prevent any potential disruptions.

To set static IP on the device:

    • Open Wi-Fi settings on the target device (shortcut can be found on the device’s home screen in the top right corner)
    • Select the appropriate network
    • Change IP settings to „Static“, and manually configure the IP settings.
